From the very beginning, education has been a key initiative for CHA. The organization has made the ability to distribute annual scholarships to graduating high school students and eligible college students in the Boston area a primary focus over the years. To date, the organization has awarded 42 scholarships. CHA strives to assist young adults with their pursuit of higher education and views this as a commitment to contributing to the larger community in which it exists.
For 2012 CHA will be awarding 3 scholarships of $500 each to students who meet the criteria below. Candidates must demonstrate good academic performance coupled with a desire to pursue academic success at a college level.
Scholarship Criteria
• Each applicant is required to submit a completed application. (click here for application)
• Submit a copy of his or her most recent High School or College transcript and a registered application proving his or her acceptance to a college.
• Applicants could be a freshman, sophomore, junior or senior attending college.
• Applicants must have a C or better average in High School or College.
• Applicants must submit an essay of not less than 150 words stating how the scholarship would assist them in reaching their short or long time goals.
